The Systems Thinking (SysThink) Special Interest Group is committed to fostering strategic partnerships with IPMA and its Member Associations while engaging practitioners, industry leaders, and academic experts across sectors. By embedding Systems Thinking into project, program, and portfolio management practices, the SIG will enrich global conversations, empower leaders to navigate complexity, and elevate the impact and value of their initiatives

Why join?

Systems Thinking has a long history, but its application has largely remained within social sciences and anthropology, focused primarily on research. Through the ST SIG, we aim to bring Systems Thinking concepts, approaches, and tools into the IPMA space to spark meaningful conversations – especially around how leaders can enhance portfolio and program management delivery and achieve project excellence. Our discussions will emphasize practical application at the practitioner level, ensuring relevance to project, program, and portfolio management.
