In this webinar series, we will explore successful case studies and best practices in project management from different parts of the world.
We plan to discuss: How do universities teach project management? What methodologies are used? How do students gain practical skills? Do students carry out real projects? How does the development of AI affect the training of project managers?
We will discuss student training, advanced training programs, and, among other things, how universities develop project management skills for their employees.
We will learn which project management tools are used in different parts of the world, and also discuss trends affecting project management.

Speaker
Prof. Taryn Bond-Barnard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Stellenbosch University, where she serves as the Academic Programme Coordinator for the Masters in Engineering Management (MEM) Programme and lectures on all postgraduate project management modules in the Faculty of Engineering. Before transitioning to academia, she gained extensive experience as a project and operations manager in the ICT industry.
She holds a BEng (cum laude) in Industrial Engineering, as well as MEng (cum laude) and PhD degrees in Project Management from the University of Pretoria. Her research focuses on the human factors influencing project management, with a strong interest in project management education. Prof. Bond-Barnard has also developed and delivered numerous in-person and online short courses on various aspects of project management for many years, catering to both academic learners and industry professionals.
Prof. Bond-Barnard has received several prestigious awards, including the 2018 IPMA Global Young Researcher Award and recognition as one of the Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans in 2019. She is a certified PRINCE2 practitioner, Project Management Professional (PMP), and a registered professional engineer with ECSA. Additionally, she is an active member of various organisations dedicated to advancing project management in South Africa and internationally.
