We will open this series with a review of the experience of Nepal and the USA. 

In this webinar series, we will explore successful case studies and best practices in project management from different parts of the world.  

We plan to discuss: How do universities teach project management? What methodologies are used? How do students gain practical skills? Do students carry out real projects? How does the development of AI affect the training of project managers? 

We will discuss student training, advanced training programs, and, among other things, how universities develop project management skills for their employees. 

We will learn which project management tools are used in different parts of the world, and also discuss trends affecting project management.

Dr. Tikajit Rai

Dr. Tikajit Rai is a well-rounded leader with 25+ years of experience in leading and delivering portfolio of diverse programs and projects with a high level of stakeholder satisfaction. The construct of his leadership in delivering success is based on organizing a cohesive team of teams and sustaining a positive experience in which all stakeholders are supported to continuously engage and thrive to achieve a collective and common vision. His mantra for successful project and program deliveries has been his favorite quartet: 3PM, Systems Thinking, People Centric Design thinking, and Culture of Care. Dr. Rai led a project that won 2013 IPMA “Gold” in Community Development category, and in the same year, the 2013 Green Project Management “Silver” for Most Sustainable Project.  This project he envisioned and implemented in Nepal through the company he co-founded to help rural farmers’ financial cooperatives transform by adopting the use Information and Communications Technology has not just sustained, but also co-created technology-enabled new business opportunities for the cooperatives to serve their customers base of close to 1 million better.   

Dr. Rai is equally passionate about transferring knowledge. Trained as an engineer and with years of entrepreneurial and professional experiences, he believes he has the right mix of theoretical, applied, and learning models to effectively transfer knowledge to lifelong learners. While he was in Nepal, he has developed PM courses and taught in local universities in Nepal for MBA students. His current role as a Senior Project and Vendor Manager at US-based company, Adtalem Global Education, includes developing and delivering program and courses – by integrating innovative learning technologies – including that of project management.   

  

Currently, Dr. Rai is the PM for IPMA’s AsiaNET and Global Head of IPMA SIG for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). In addition, he is also an active member of IEEE DEI committee for Smart Cities. He has assessed 7 IPMA projects for its PE Awards in the past. He also served as the PM4NGOs board member from 2018 and 20023 and is one of the contributors to PM4NGO’s two guides: the Program and Project guide Development Professionals. He has Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Masters’ in Information and Communications Technology; and Ph.D. in Blockchain and its application in credentialing.
