This webinar is part of a series of IPMA Smarter U SIG webinars on the best practices of developing project management at universities across different countries. 

This is the second webinar in the series and we will look at the German experience. In the webinar we focus on the topic: chatbot developments as part of a student projects.   

In this webinar series, we will explore successful case studies and best practices in project management from different parts of the world.  

We plan to discuss: How do universities teach project management? What methodologies are used? How do students gain practical skills? Do students carry out real projects? How does the development of AI affect the training of project managers? 

We will discuss student training, advanced training programs, and, among other things, how universities develop project management skills for their employees. 

We will learn which project management tools are used in different parts of the world, and also discuss trends affecting project management.

Speaker

Prof. Dr. Harald Wehnes

Prof. Dr. Harald Wehnes teaches and researches at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Würzburg on the topic of ‘Modern project management in practice – with start-up projects’. 

He has decades of experience as a CIO in industry and in large research institutions. For more than ten years, he has headed the SIG ‘Project Management at Universities’ – a network of 400 professors and lecturers for project management in the DACH region. 

He is a board member of the German Informatics Society (GI) and speaker of the steering committee’s working group ‘Digital Sovereignty’. 

In 2024, he published two books on ‘AI in the project economy’. Volume 1: What is changing in project management through AI. Volume 2: A new era of efficiency and innovation.
