Henny Portman, the proprietor of Portman PM(O) Consultancy, brings an impressive four decades of expertise to the world of project management. Previously, he held the position of partner at HWP Consulting and served as the foremost authority on project management offices (PMOs) within the NN Group. In this capacity, he spearheaded the introduction and implementation of PMO methodologies, encompassing portfolio, program, and project management, across Europe and Asia. Henny Portman’s professional journey also includes the vital roles of training, coaching, and mentoring (senior) program, project, and portfolio managers, along with project sponsors at all organizational levels. Moreover, he has been instrumental in the establishment of several thriving professional PM(O) communities.

Mr. Portman boasts an extensive array of qualifications, holding accreditation in P3O, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP, PRINCE2 Agile, AgilePM, AgilePgM, and AgileSHIFT, both as a trainer and consultant. He also carries the title of SPC4 SAFe consultant and trainer, possesses certification as a P3M3 trainer and assessor, and has earned recognition as a PMO Value Ring Certified Consultant by the PMO Global Alliance. Notably, he contributes to the assessment process for the IPMA Project Excellence Award by assessing mega and large projects on behalf of IPMA. Beyond his consulting and training roles, Henny Portman is an internationally renowned speaker and prolific author, celebrated for his numerous contributions to articles and books within the PM(O) field.
