International Project Management Association (IPMA) and the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction (UCL) announce the next global keynote of The IPMA-UCL Megaproject CEO series. Coordinated by UCL’s Dr. Juliano Denicol, Global Head of the IPMA SIG Megaprojects, the IPMA-UCL Megaproject CEO invites a stellar group of leaders that are at the forefront of megaproject delivery practices. The Megaproject CEO builds upon the growing interest in leadership practices and recent research that recommends an emphasis on building and leading collaborations to advance our understanding of megaproject delivery.

Société des Grands Projets is responsible for The Grand Paris Express, a new metro that will connect the main places of life and activity in the suburbs without going through Paris. The Grand Paris Express has four new metro lines (15, 16, 17 and 18) and extends line 14 allowing nearly three million passengers to make their daily journeys more quickly. With 200 km of lines, the Grand Paris Express will improve the daily lives of the inhabitants and accelerate the transformation of the region. With The Grand Paris Express, 95% of the inhabitants of the metropolis will live less than 2 km from a railway station. This means a journey of less than 10 minutes by bike or bus.“

Jean-François Monteils
Chairman of the Board, Société des Grands Projets

Jean-François Monteils, born in April 1965, is a graduate of the French national administration school (ENA) and holds degrees in political studies (IEP, Paris) and in oriental languages and civilizations (Inalco, Paris).

He was appointed to the French Court of Auditors in 1993 on graduating from ENA, then promoted to senior auditor in 2010. He was a financial attaché in Germany from 1997 to 2000, then subprefect of Saintes from 2000 to 2003. He was successively appointed general secretary for regional affairs in Corsica (2003-2007), advisor on the reform of the State and the public service (2007-2009), then advisor on sustainable development, research and industry in the cabinet of prime minister François Fillon in 2009. He became general secretary of the Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy in 2010. In November 2012, he returned to the Court of Auditors. Since September 2015, he has been chairman of the Nouvelle Aquitaine Regional Court of Accounts. Since April 2019, he has also been chairman of the board at OFPRA (the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons)
